Baking You Feel Better & The Le CakePop Annual Gala
Here at Le CakePop we truly believe that if you are fortunate enough to be able to give back, then you should!
In 2018, we became an official corporate partner of Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, a cause very close to our hearts since both of our children have been patients at the hospital, particularly our youngest son who is under the care of the Neurosurgical and Neurology teams and has been since he was born (he is 11 this year!).
For us, giving back to the hospital wasn’t just about raising money and donating this, but actually using our time and talents to work with the young patients. From this idea, we created Baking You Feel Better; CakePop decorating classes which we run in the hospital.
Our first class only had 6 children attend, however word soon spread and we now have up to 20 children per class with varying levels of abilities both mentally and physically. At the end of each class we give each child a certificate and Le CakePop pin badge to take away, and of course, they get to keep all of their CakePops too! Some of our children have been in hospital for months on end, and in spending an hour or 2 with them each month, we are giving them the gift of just getting to be kids again. No worries, no medicine or treatment, just lots of fun and lots of sprinkles!
In addition to our Baking You Feel Better classes, we launched our annual gala in 2018 which took place at Glasgow's Grand Central Hotel in August. We were delighted that so many of our wedding industry friends gave their time and talents to support the event, from stationery to room décor, we were able to create a real wow evening for our 200 guests and raise thousands of pounds in the process.
Our 2019 Gala took place at the 5* Radisson Blu, Glasgow and we welcomed 200 guests to celebrate and fundraise with us at our All That Glitters Gala! It was an incredible success and we are delighted to be hosting our 2020 Gala on 19th September 2020 again at the Radisson Blu. Watch this space for tickets!
